Special polyurea and polyurethane elastomers are formulated to resist abrasion. The coating with elastomeric polyurethanes allows for enormously extending the life of systems subject to wear, such as sieving machines, channels and hoppers in the mining field and all applications involving the movement of abrasive material.
The advantage of the spray application is evident. A coating in rubber would involve the application of a solid layer that must be cut and adapted to the shape. This results in waste material, high costs and very long work times. With the spray application of polyurethane, however, the work is fast and the product is applied precisely where necessary and at the required thickness. In this way, for example, parts subject to greater abrasion can be coated more thickly, whereas thickness can be kept to a minimum on parts that are not involved.
